Never content to design the same building twice, we insist on breakthrough outcomes and thoughtful designs for our K-12 and higher education clients.
Since our founding in Syracuse, New York, in 1981, when we chose to concentrate on educational design, our portfolio has grown to represent one of the broadest and deepest in the educational arena. Our work includes classrooms, laboratories, recreational, and residential buildings, as well as sustainability strategies and master plans for public and private primary, intermediate, secondary, and higher education facilities.
Looking ahead, we see school districts and colleges increasingly seeking dynamic learning communities that are conceived around the ideal of minimizing energy consumption with a growing interest from college students in environmentally friendly campuses. Because true sustainability extends beyond the discipline of architecture, our firm has dedicated itself to a more all-encompassing view of what we can achieve.
Our Advanced Building Studio (ABS) works to research and develop sustainable techniques and to reduce energy consumption by fundamentally changing how we approach design. Our architects and designers integrate ABS insights and our Blue Design philosophies into our projects.
We use energy modeling and other advanced measurement techniques, along with our groundbreaking Blue Design philosophy, to generate, evaluate, and apply revelatory concepts. Our designs include net-zero fossil fuel energy buildings that use environmentally responsible materials and construction methods. We approach each educational design project with a keen appreciation of its potential to bring us closer to a sustainable world.
