Ashley McGraw Architects Attended SUNY Early Care & Education Conference
Ashley McGraw Architects was proud to participate in the SUNY Early Care & Education Conference, that took place June 3–5, 2025, in Saratoga Springs. The event brought together approximately 100 directors and staff from across the state. Representing our firm were Mike Lindstrom, AIA, LEED AP, Principal of the Early Education Studio; Toni Marcoux, RA, Associate Principal; and Amy Wolfson, CPSI, Landscape Designer.
Our team delivered two presentations during the conference:
Amy Wolfson, CPSI, and Mike Lindstrom, AIA, LEED AP, presented “Creating Great Outdoor Early Education Spaces for Exploration and Learning” on June 3 from 12:45 – 2:25 PM. This session helped participants recognize the value of outdoor play and the importance of thoughtful design and planning. Attendees engaged in defining the goals and vision for their own outdoor spaces while expanding their understanding of the educational potential these environments offer.
Mike Lindstrom, AIA, LEED AP, and Toni Marcoux, RA, co-presented “Why Children’s Environments Matter” on June 3 from 2:30 – 4:00 PM. This session aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of how the physical environment influences healthy child development. The presentation offered a framework for designing effective learning spaces, highlight the educator’s role within the environment, and provide tools for advocating for high-quality early education facilities.
