Ashley McGraw Architects Attends Head Start East: LIVE Syracuse
Ashley McGraw Architects sponsored and attended the Head Start East: LIVE Syracuse, held September 23–25, 2026, at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. The conference brought together Head Start teachers, educators, and directors to connect, share knowledge, and explore opportunities to support early childhood education.
Sebastian Baliva and Maddie Spinski, Designers, represented the firm and shared the work of Ashley McGraw’s Early Education and Landscape Studios. Through conversations with attendees, the team highlighted its experience designing indoor and outdoor learning environments that support children’s development, educator well-being, and opportunities for exploration and discovery.
A highlight of the conference was the opportunity to offer attendees a preview of the ongoing update of the Head Start Design Guide: A Guide for Building a Head Start Facility. Originally published in 2005, the Design Guide is undergoing a multi-phase update supported by Ashley McGraw Architects. The first phases are complete, incorporating current research, industry advancements, and best practices in early childhood facility planning and design.
