Susanne Angarano (CID, IIDA, ASID, NCIDQ, NCARB, AIA, ALEP, WELL AP, MCPPO), Principal, co-presented with Eric Nichols, Director of Facilities and Operations for the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University, on September 21, 2026, at the ERAPPA 2026 Annual Conference.
Their presentation, Cornell’s New Maker Hub: Revolutionary Collaboration, Constraints, and Creativity, explored how the Cornell Maker Hub transformed an ambitious concept into a campus-wide resource while navigating complex funding, regulatory requirements, and diverse stakeholder priorities. The presentation examined how programmatic ambiguity and competing demands became opportunities for innovative, high-performance design and shared practical strategies for building consensus and creating impactful spaces for emerging pedagogies, interdisciplinary learning, and student engagement.
