Bartels Hall Basketball Locker Room Renovation

Cornell University's Athletics and Physical Education Department, along with the Men's and Women's Basketball teams, sought programming and design services to reconfigure the existing locker rooms and restrooms to better support organizational productivity and create a more motivating team environment. The project focused on aesthetic and programmatic improvements that enhance the functionality of the space for the teams' daily activities while providing a more spacious and marketable environment for recruitment and retention.

Finishes were selected to create a functional, comfortable, and welcoming environment for student athletes and coaches. The design provides coaches with a space that is both professional and inviting when welcoming prospective student athletes. Carefully selected materials define distinct zones throughout the locker room, improving organization and reinforcing the overall experience of the space. Durability and ease of maintenance were also key considerations in the material selection process.
