Nuthatch Hollow Living Building

Nuthatch Hollow is an environmental learning and research site near the Binghamton University campus. The project includes the design and construction of a 2,000 to 2,500 square foot environmental classroom and research facility that will serve as a hub for environmental classes and research within the broader Nuthatch Hollow Preserve. Designed to meet the Living Building Challenge, one of the most aspirational and rigorous building standards in the world today, the facility reflects Binghamton University's commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and experiential learning. More than an environmental classroom, the building serves as a physical manifestation of the University's core values and mission, particularly its commitment to preparing students to live effectively in a time of change while empowering them to create a more sustainable and resilient world.
