Syracuse COE Award.png

In November 2018, members and friends of the USGBC New York Upstate community gathered in Albany to celebrate the annual Friends of USGBC NY Upstate Gala and Leadership Awards. We were honored to receive the Green Building Legacy Award for the Syracuse Center of Excellence. The award recognizes a building constructed, renovated, or operated within the past 10 years. Buildings/projects that were innovative in sustainable practices and pushing the envelope of sustainability in design and development.

The Syracuse Center of Excellence was designed to function as a test bed for environmental and energy technologies and building innovations that the Center promotes. The LEED Platinum 55,000 SF headquarters of the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems features: natural ventilation, personal ventilation systems, heat recovery/reuse systems, rain water capture/ reuse, vegetative roof, and geothermal ground source heat pumps are among the sustainability strategies employed in the building’s design.

Thank you for the honor USGBC New York Upstate!
