Ashley McGraw Architects is pleased to announce the addition of Lexie Perkins as an Architectural Designer. Perkins recently graduated from Alfred State College with a Bachelor of Architecture (2023). During her studies at Alfred State, Perkins utilized her summers to intern at two architecture firms and gained valuable experience assisting design teams with project submittals, drafting construction drawings, and general project coordination. Perkins is very civically engaged and has contributed to various urban design proposals and town revitalization projects.

LaFayette CSD Celebrates the Completion of Grimshaw Elementary’s New Library-Media Center

LaFayette Central School District held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of Grimshaw Elementary’s new Library-Media Center as part of the District’s 2020 Capital Project. The new garden-themed library features a maker space, learning commons, expanded seating options, group study areas, and an updated circulation desk. The $8.6 million capital project also includes renovations to the District’s Junior/Senior High School that will be finished around Fall 2023. The project seeks to further the district’s goals of engaging students and helping make them “lifelong learners.”

Jamesville-Dewitt CSD Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Celebrate 2019 Capital Project Completion

The Jamesville-Dewitt Central School District held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of their 2019 Capital Project renovations. The ceremony took place in the J-D Middle School’s new Library-Media Center. The $33 million Capital Project helps breathe new life into various spaces throughout the district. The Middle School specifically features an engaging new Library-Media Center and flexible learning spaces, among many other exciting additions. The goal of the project was to rethink and redesign the district’s physical spaces to match their instructional objectives.

The AIANYS Excelsior Awards program, celebrating its ninth year, highlights the best in publicly funded buildings, outdoor areas, and public art across New York State and the professionals who support and advocate for them. The Binghamton University Science IV Renovation / Deep Energy Retrofit received an Honor Award, representing the highest level of achievement, at the Excelsior Awards ceremony on May 4, 2023 in Albany, New York. Mid-Century buildings are commonplace on campuses across the nation, yet many are energy hogs, far from code-compliant, and are hardly conducive to 21st century learning. By renovating the interiors of these facilities to make vibrant new academic environments and transforming the building envelopes and mechanical systems to significantly reduce operating costs, revitalized mid-century buildings such as Science IV can play a positive role in campus life for decades to come.

The Association of College Unions International (ACUI) has recognized the transformation of the Schine Student Center at Syracuse University by Mackey Mitchell Architects and Ashley McGraw Architects with a 2023 Facility Design Award of Excellence. The project was recognized as the best project in the extremely competitive Student Union Projects between $35 and $55 million category.
