LOW ENERGY CABIN

This Adirondack cabin was built on a small site in the North Country and is oriented to take advantage of views of the adjacent pond and mountain. The exterior is designed to fit the residential character of the neighborhood while the interior is inspired by Scandinavian mountain getaways.

Careful attention to airtightness, insulation, and moisture dynamics ensure that the building uses 40% less energy than a code minimum building with off-the-shelf components and minimal extra costs. The site placement, roof orientation, and energy systems allow for the building to be ready for near net-zero if desired in the future.
