Anne Coghlan Play Garden.
Cunningham park
Working with the Cunningham Park Foundation and its trustees, the Anne Coghlan Play Garden at Cunningham Park in Milton, MA the design stemmed from the vision of trustee Anne Coughlin, to create a play space for children and families in a garden stetting to discover and enjoy the wonders of nature.
The Play Garden transformed an under-utilized space in the Park into a new 18,000 SF natural play space for children (specifically for infants and toddlers) and families to enjoy.
The Play Garden includes a gathering space for families, a sand play area, swings for young children, a play hill and slide, butterfly gardens, sensory gardens, a live willow hut, a 15’ long embankment slide and the refurbishment of a beloved and existing ‘spider’ climber (circa 1950, but still complying to current playground safety standards). The design included the addition of an accessible path to the upper existing play area and we collaborated with local artists to create a unique and enchanting garden play environment.
